The new Guitar Hero 3 for Wii is essentially the same design that has been produced for Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.  With over 70 songs, ranging through different eras of rock a player won’t be disappointed.  Song List include the likes of Guns n’ Roses, Metallica, and even the Beastie Boys with 70% of all songs the being the actual master recordings of the artist.

The main component of Guitar Hero is, of course, the guitar peripheral, game play centering around pressing the buttons on the neck while strumming to the beat of the song.  Les Paul Gibson is the inspiration for the Wii Guitar shape, wireless and much improved in style, the guitar allows players to more easily maneuver along the buttons on the neck quickly.  Though Guitar Hero is new to the Nintendo platform, they have no doubt included some additions to make play a little more interesting and competitive.

Some of the new features on the Wii version of Guitar Hero is rumble, it is the only Guitar Hero game featuring a force-feedback, shaking your guitar whenever you are Rocking Out with Star Power, or enjoying the other fantastic effects of the game.  Another new feature is the Wii remote speaker that is utilized for the game’s “squelch” indicating you missed a note, the actual sound emitting from the guitar itself so when going head-to-head, it is clear who is missing notes.  Some of the best modes are when in competitive mode, you can temporarily increase your opponents difficulty level by hitting a successful string of notes, enjoying doubling up his notes, shaking his screen for a few seconds or the best, “breaking” one of the strings on their guitar so they are unable to play until fixing it by whacking the whammy bar or guitar buttons.

More in line with the PlayStation 2 game, you are watching notes come flying towards you down the center of your screen while screaming fans cheer you on.
